1.
A sea that breathes is a sea that talks And an ear in tune can hear its coughs How could oh the sea Ever feel as lonely as me? And a moon that seeps Beats into a drum on the floor And a tide that whines will grab your hands from the shore But how could oh the sea Ever feel as lonely as me? Let it come let it go like a crisis Where its bottle thin or as wide as you'd like it I'm so scared I'm losing my wises The more and more I think I don't like this The more and more I feel I don't like this I don’t like this So how could oh the sea Ever feel as lonely as me?

Mountaintops covered with snow Have always been as far below me As the bottom of the ocean deep To any old fish that you could meet Ain't it funny that all we have Is all we know And all I know is flight Clouds that shift and split in two Have always been a brother to me The storms they bring and the gusts of wind That rain on men and lift my wings Ain't it funny that all we have Is all we know And all I know is flight Those with stronger wills will stand so still they grow their roots away from it But oh to use those roots to feed the leaves that do indeed grow towards it. Oh the space above our heads is useless unless we do reach for it. Ain't it funny that all we have Is all we know And all I know is flight

Crow 03:35
Like two drunk crows Who drank too much wine And danced for far too long We raised our glass and drank down fast And waltz to our favorite songs As we cried why can't it always be night The moon herself She done look down her dress At us two red faced crows in our tree She raised her hands and she swooped down fast And she sure done shut our beaks And she cried why won't you give me some peace Oh we tried oh we tried From the dusk till the dawn Till there were holes in our eyes from the sun Oh we tried oh we tried From the dusk till the dawn Till there were holes in our eyes from the sun Oh my dawn Please lay me down Is it a crime lord is it wrong? Oh my dawn Please lay me down Is it a crime lord is it wrong? Is it wrong? Is it?

Lover of ten years passed They have covered you with grass And stones now line your grave Caked in your graveyard dust I remain to trust That your soul is still awake Still awake Lover indeed they have covered with weeds My body but my soul remains So play louder, and faster, and stronger And make this soil break Make it break These weeds these weeds tangled tangled Oh these knots not so simple Oh these trees hanging hanging Oh their limbs casting Shadows Lover indeed they have covered with weeds My body but my sould remains So play louder, and faster, and stronger, Make this soil break Make it break

Bremen 03:14
"Oh where are we going" Said the brown dog to the hen But just because they were animals Doesn't mean they couldn't have been men Oh lets go down to Bremen Take my paw in your hand And we'll sing for our supper In that freest of the freest People need to see us The freest of the freest land It was part of the plan Everybody would stand On their hind legs Hands holding high the other Like a tower of brothers And the one on the top Would crow warning And call in the morning And call out the storm that was coming The one on the bottom would steer Till the road was clear And the people would learn to rejoice And to fear our coming But how long did we think We could walk we could sing Before our voices gave out and our limbs gave in On the road, on the road, on the road, on the road On the way, on the way, on the way To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen, To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen, To Bremen Oh on the road to Bremen I came across some robbers three And first I took everything away from them Then they took everything away from me
6.
I'm making you a dress That you can wear on top Of all the other things that you have got It's gonna be made of silk It's gonna have lacy fringe It's gonna have two pockets you can put your things in But when you wear my dress You've got to always step In time with the one who's singing a song to you The breath upon your skin The tiny gust of wind The one against the other keeps you pinned In line with the one who's singing to you In time with the one who's singing to you He's sung this song before before He's slipping through that closing door again I guess I am a ghost That's what my friends all say I'm rigid as a post and I am grey There isn't anything To say or do or want I'm just an empty box collecting time, collecting sun But when you wear my dress You've got to always step In time with the one who's singing his song to you
7.
Stowaway 02:57
I can see how Our dirty thread now Is close to broke since we last spoke A stowaway from Galway I went through all your gowns And spooked away all your ghosts Coffins arose, but no one ever spoke Comfort is as comfort does And I've held up all your crowns And I've wondered since what I'd do now A tower is as feared As its glass is clear For those inside that do look down But soon the ground arose, and everybody choked But oh my garden Oh my roses cut by friends that I knew then Oh your hardened heart It softens with the friends that you had when If I am a frown Once cooked but now chewed down A stomachs worth of all this work But give me just a smile It'll last me for a while As I search for what made this worked But oh my garden Oh my roses cut by friends that I knew then Oh your hardened heart It softens with the friends that you had when
8.
My Only Son 04:20
My only son, falter none As my mind slips away But I won't forget your name And I won't forget your face Little one, my only son How could a melody Hummed by a memory Die quick So tuned to nothing It hangs oh so empty Not thick How could I lose you When I don't choose to Will it bend, or will it mend? Will it mend, or will it break? But I won't forget your name And I won't forget your face Little one, my only son With stories ever old You told them so they never grow faint They stay as something all together nothing remains How could I lose you When I don't choose to Will it bend, or will it mend? Will it mend, or will it break?
9.
We stand alone with the bones of our father's breath Retching our souls with the stories of life and death Come pass away on the sinews of our strings But watch your weary eyes and protect thy dreams A call to arms We brothers four The jobs at hand So dust your tongues And instruments To tell the tales of the land Steal away the weight that crushes thy bare chest For something's galloped all night To mold this mare's nest We were taught from the whisperings Of our mother’s fears So watch your weary eyes and wipe away those tears A call to arms We brothers four The jobs at hand So dust your tongues And instruments To tell the tales of the land Mi stayeem, samye nat kastyamee, ot papinay dooshi Mi stayeem, samye nat kastyamee, ot papinay dooshi Mi stayeem, samye nat kastyamee, ot papinay dooshi Mi stayeem stayeem stayeem Mi stayeem stayeem stayeem Mi stayeem stayeem stayeem
10.
Isn't it just like the sea To come between you and me Out on the water you'd be As I watched with anxiety You'd say "Don't hate the sea from the shore, The ocean was here long before the land. Take my hand, come out here with me." But of course I'd never leave And you'd float out to sea Isn't it just like the sea To come between you and me Out on the water you'd be As I watched with anxiety You'd say "Don't hate the sea from the sand, The ocean was here long before the land Take my hand."
11.
Light the streets up like old gay Paris Hear the songs they played for you and me My weary heart stood stock still stock still While our hips swayed with their own free will Lands deserted by crushing blue blows Are nothing like the sight of your silver clothes We won't dance again my dear I fear But the music plays when we're near you're near Please forgive these hands of mine For they tremble and untwine All these knots we've banded to The steps that we once knew Shake your locks free and bow your boughs Down falls the canopy of your silvered crown Age don't mean a thing my dear I fear As long as music plays when we're near you're near Please forgive these hands of mine For they tremble and untwine All these knots we've banded to The steps that we once knew Strike the band up and play on play on Lighter now with the soft spoken dawn My weary heart beat in time in tune Until the music stopped and our dance did too.

about

The Huffington Post's #10 album of 2012!

With their debut album "Bremen", the award-winning PigPen Theatre Co. steps into the studio for the first time. Born out of their critically acclaimed stories written for the stage, "Bremen" finds the balance between theatricality and subtlety. PigPen embraces rich storytelling, often pairing haunting lyrics with the playful melodies and levity of their productions. Whether it’s the driving banjos that fuel the dusty “Crow”, the warm, lush harmonies in “As Lonely As Me,” or the nostalgia found in the swelling strings of “Grand Old Paris,” each track finds a unique way to stick with you.
